Gastronomic trends for 2025
Every time a new year begins, with it come new routines, beginnings, improvements, novelties and resolutions. In the field of gastronomy, it could not be less, so the gastronomic trends of 2025 have also arrived.
We are in a time in which we suffer constant changes and updates, which of course affects food and drink as well.
One day it is fashionable to eat toast with avocado, and the next week, it seems that you are not up to date because you continue to have the same breakfast when now what is in fashion is a new super food.
Surely you will end up finding out through social networks, either TikTok or Instagram, since they are the two favorites for users to comment on news and report on discoveries.
An idea that has become part of our daily lives since the pandemic is to lead a healthier lifestyle and choose local and organic products, leaving aside (as far as possible) those that are ultra-processed.
In 2025, we want to eat better, but we also want flavors to go hand in hand with this belief. Eating green should not be synonymous with eating boring.
Swicy
Spicy food is already part of our daily life. First we introduced it to our most classic dishes (such as steak tartar with Tabasco or lentils with spicy chorizo), and little by little it has become even more integrated due to the great variety of international cuisines that we enjoy any day of the week.
From spicy Mexican tacos, to a spicy Asian curry or mayonnaise with kimchi (a typical ferment in Korean cuisine).
Well, that's not all, now this trend is evolving and the swicy flavor is reaching us; a mix of sweet and spicy.
Spicy honey, mango with Sriracha sauce or chocolate with chili are some that may sound more familiar to you due to their high frequency.

This trend is here to stay and offers new flavors and sensations through exotic combinations of ingredients.
Pistachio
We can confirm that pistachio is considered the most complete nut because it is one of the plant foods with complete vegetable protein and because of its rich content of vitamins and minerals.

Haven't you already seen a big trend with this dried fruit during 2024?
In the recipes that users posted on social media as well as in practically all restaurant menus, there was something with pistachios;
Pistachio cheesecake, pistachio-filled croissant, pasta with pistachio pesto, pistachio spread, pistachio risotto, pistachio tiramisu, and we even found it in coffees; pistachio latte.
The tendency to use this ingredient is increasing, and it is used in both sweet and savory recipes.

Our chefs and bakers have also joined this delicious gastronomic trend.
Turmeric
Interest in this Asian spice has been on the rise.
Although it has been incorporated into our diet in some way for years, it seems that this will be the year in which it will become established.

Its adaptability means that it can be found in all kinds of recipes: sweet, savory, teas, sauces and even as a natural coloring.
You may also be familiar with the famous golden milk, which, in case you didn't know, is prepared with turmeric.
It is rich in vitamins C, E & K, has a high fibre content, helps digestion, is beneficial against stress due to its components that stimulate the nervous system and does not contain sugar, lactose or gluten.
What recipe are you going to incorporate it into?
Non-alcoholic drinks
The tendency to drink more and more non-alcoholic beverages is very noticeable among the population. There has been a growing interest in drinking more 0’0 drinks, mainly for health reasons and because of the current trend in this regard;
Alcohol has become no longer part of the interests of the new generations.

In the past, the most common option was to find non-alcoholic beers. But today there are already non-alcoholic wines and cavas, as well as 0.0 liquors.
Exactly, you can have a non-alcoholic Gin Tonic.
Prebiotics & Probiotics
Yes, we know that these adjectives are already familiar to you from videos, articles and Instagram posts.
We must point out that since January 2025, it has become one of this year's trends.
Prebiotics are those that act as nutrients for our microbiota (asparagus, artichokes, banana, milk, honey and spelt among others), and probiotics are responsible for contributing to improving the functioning of the intestinal flora (yogurt, kefir, kombucha, pickles and sourdough breads for example).
To have a good intestinal flora, all of them will be equally useful and important.
We also know that you have already seen how several influencers have reinforced this trend, showing their toasts with sourdough bread or their kefir snacks with fruit and nuts.
We have mentioned some of the main gastronomic trends for 2025, however, there is still more.
There is talk of sandwiches with XXL fillings (bigger sandwiches to hold a greater amount of irresistible filling that will conquer social networks), increasing spiciness (we will find even stronger spiciness among the different dishes and snacks; chilies of various types, horseradish sauces, wasabi or pepper and others) and tea and infusions as substitutes for specialty coffee (matcha tea, chai, English breakfast and all those infusions that help daily well-being, whether for digestion or to rest better).
At ESKISIT Catering we are already working on how we can incorporate some trends into our gastronomic offering.
Pistachio is now available in the fillings of our customized cakes, and we are also testing the incorporation of a new mini brioche with XXL filling.
We will soon be able to tell you more about what we are cooking, but if you want to know our current menu for special celebrations or events of all kinds, do not hesitate to contact us now;
